Having established a prominent position in the Irish Golf Industry over the past 35 years, Mick Quaid came to China to evaluate the opportunity to develop golf academies.

In his early years Mick represented Ireland in rugby & golf . After completing his Universities Studies in Construction Engineering, Mick turned back to golf & played for a brief period on the European PGA Tour before forming a golf Design/Management company “(Vachardia Ltd)” which focused on “Short-Game” golf facilities using artificial grass. This enabled Mick to maximize his passion for golf while building a business using qualified skills in both design & golf education.

In 2003 Mick was invited by the Chinese Bureau of Sports Administration to design & develop a “shortgame” golf facility at the National Golf Training Center in Beijing. Mick completed the project in 2005, where he also operated a golf school until 2008. From 2008 to 2010 Mick represented Nicklaus Golf Academies China, and 2010 Mick opened his 1st “Mick Quaid Irish Golf” (MQIG) branded golf school in Beijing where the primary focus was Junior Golf.
